Join us this spring for an eight-week back bending series derived from Christina’s 2016 Spring Asana Junkies Webinar. Each class will be a group practice lead by Chelsea where we will dive deeper into our backbends through building upon poses from the previous week.
You DO NOT need to be able to do these poses listed below to participate. We will work towards these poses and modifications. Substitutions and variations will be outlined.
This course is perfect for:
• Those who love backbends and want to practice them more
• Those who dislike backbends and want to make peace with them
• Those who want to learn techniques for helping to progress in these postures
• Those who want to be part of a group of likeminded individuals, practicing and exploring asanas together in an encouraging and inspiring atmosphere
The following poses will be explored:
• Shalabhasana (locust pose variation)
• Dhanurasana (bow pose)
• Bhujangasana (cobra pose)
• Urdhva mukha svanasana (upward facing dog pose)
• Ustrasana (camel pose)
• Urdhva dhanurasana (upward facing bow pose)
• Drop backs
• Dwi pada viparita dandasana (two-legged inverted staff)
• Headstand drop overs
• Eka pada raja kapotasana (one-legged royal kind pigeon)
Thursday Nights: 7-8:30pm: March 9-April 20th and
Saturday 1:-2:30pm April 29th.
