Introduction to Yoga Series: 6 weeks with Laura Fallon January 18th- February 22nd

The Intro to Yoga Series is a great way to initiate your yoga practice, or return to yoga after an injury, or an extended period of time away from your mat. Whatever your point of entry, this series is designed to fully support your needs. Committing to this multi-week series sets the stage to learn poses from the ground up, ask questions as they arise and learn dynamically as a group. Basic yoga poses will be explored to find your fullest range of movement along with straightforward breath and mediation practices. After completion of the series, you will be prepared for the other classes offered by TYE and connect fully to your life off the mat.

Saturday, January 20th Myofascial Release Workshop w/ Danielle Fazio- FULL

Discover techniques to unravel tension in your tissues and reduce tightness in your body. Myofascial release moves along the long fibrous pathways of connective tissue that contract and adhere from habitual movement and posture. Over time, this “cling wrap” of the body can limit range of motion, and contribute to soreness, weakness and pain in the body. Myofascial release aims to relax muscles and improve blood flow and lymphatic circulation. With the use of props, you will learn to apply gradual and sustained pressure to release the connective tissue, walking away with simple but effective knowledge so that you can apply these techniques on your own at home.

Time: 1-3:00pm

Cost: $40 with RAD rollers to take home, OR $25 without.

*No experience necessary. All props will be provided

This program is designed for both new and veteran yoga teachers wanting to better manage the variety of levels that walk into every classroom.  It will be applicable to all teachers, regardless of accessibility of props, or style of yoga they teach.

  • To observe when modifications are needed:  As a whole in the room or for individual students
  • Effective and clear language for presenting options:  Avoiding confusion/distraction
  • How to encourage people:  To stick with you, work safely, and reach their full potential
  • Specific, effective and accessible modifications for common postures
  • How options can build towards or detract from full potential
